Debug and replay Telegram bot webhooks

Works with Telegram bot webhook updates. When a cold start or bad deploy drops the updates users sent your bot, HookWatch captures each one so you can see and replay what was missed.

Works with Telegram bot webhook updates. When you set a bot webhook, Telegram delivers each update — messages, callbacks, inline queries — to your endpoint as an HTTP POST, and expects a fast 200. If your endpoint is cold, mid-deploy, or throwing, those updates are the messages your users sent that your bot never saw.

How bot deliveries fail

  • Cold-start 502s. A serverless bot wakes slowly and the update comes back 502 or times out before the handler is ready.
  • Handler 500s. An unhandled update shape (a new callback type, a missing field) throws and returns 500.
  • Missed messages. Whatever the cause, the user’s message is simply not processed — and Telegram’s retry window is limited.

Debugging missed updates

Point your bot’s webhook URL at your HookWatch endpoint and every update is captured with its body and the target’s response. Instead of guessing which messages your bot dropped during a bad deploy, you can see exactly which update deliveries failed and why.

Replay once the bot is healthy

After you fix the handler or the bot warms back up, replay the missed updates so they are processed as if they had arrived on time.
